چکیده
Interactive multiobjective optimization methods operate iteratively so that a decision maker directs the solution process by providing preference information, and only solutions of interest are generated. These limit amount information considered in each iteration support learning about trade-offs. Many interactive have been developed, they differ technical aspects type used. Finding most appropriate method for problem to be solved is challenging, supporting selection crucial. Published research lacks on conducted experiments’ specifics (e.g. questions asked), making it impossible replicate them. We discuss challenges conducting experiments offer realistic means compare methods. propose novel questionnaire experimental design and, as proof concept, apply them comparing two also develop user interfaces these introduce sustainability with multiple objectives. The proposed setup reusable, enabling further experiments.

Experiments with classification-based scalarizing functions in interactive multiobjective optimization
In multiobjective optimization methods, the multiple conflicting objectives are typically converted into a single objective optimization problem with the help of scalarizing functions and such functions may be constructed in many ways. We compare both theoretically and numerically the performance of three classification-based scalarizing functions and pay attention to how well they obey the cla...
متن کاملIntroduction to Multiobjective Optimization: Interactive Approaches
We give an overview of interactive methods developed for solving nonlinear multiobjective optimization problems. In interactive methods, a decision maker plays an important part and the idea is to support her/him in the search for the most preferred solution. In interactive methods, steps of an iterative solution algorithm are repeated and the decision maker progressively provides preference in...

In this paper, interactive multiobjective optimization for radiotherapy treatment planning is studied. The aim of radiotherapy is to destroy a tumor without causing damage to healthy tissue and treatment planning is used to achieve an optimal dose distribution. In intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), the intensity of the incoming radiation flux can be modulated using some aperture such as a...

متن کاملRNA-seq mixology: designing realistic control experiments to compare protocols and analysis methods
Carefully designed control experiments provide a gold standard for benchmarking different genomics research tools. A shortcoming of many gene expression control studies is that replication involves profiling the same reference RNA sample multiple times. This leads to low, pure technical noise that is atypical of regular studies. To achieve a more realistic noise structure, we generated a RNA-se...
